As an amusement facility, the history of the Ferris wheel can be traced back to the middle of the 19th century. The earliest Ferris wheel was first demonstrated by George Washington Ferris at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. This rotating structure, made of wood and iron, quickly attracted people's attention and became the prototype of the modern Ferris wheel. A modern Ferris wheel usually consists of a large bearing that supports a steel wheel with multiple enclosed compartments or seats mounted on it.
